ABOUT US

When Pepe Silva began volunteering in Prison Ministry with Bayside Community Church, it was more than just outreach.  It became a calling.  He bared witness to the testimonies of numerous inmates and began to understand the challenges that these inmates would face when they were released.  A deep passion grew igniting the desire to make a positive transformation in the lives of previously incarcerated men .

His Seeds and Vines was created as a way to broaden the reach beyond Prison Ministry and examine in detail the factors that play a part in keeping the former inmates from re-entering the prison system.  Recidivism, as it is commonly called, is influenced by numerous factors from social environment and difficulty adjusting to obtaining employment and sustainable housing.  According to the National Institute of Justice, approximately 44% of criminals released return before the end of their first year out of prison.

His Seeds and Vines works on each of these factors with the ultimate goal being to walk with Christ in establishing a new sustainable life for former inmates.  The organization works with various key objectives, ensuring that focus is given to the mind, body and spirit of each individual.

The Narrow and Wide Gates

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."
